Amazing Clear Cast Resin
Note: The thicker the pour, the shorter it will take dry. Thin layers will take longer to dry. Resin also dries faster in heat and humidity. For best results, Amazing Clear Cast should be used at room temperature.
To Mix Resin:
Tips:Minimizing bubbles - After pouring each side into your mixing cup. let resin sit for 3 minutes to allow some of the air bubbles to rise to the surface. Once at the surface, take a stir stick and move the bubbles to the side of the cup and pop/crush
Popping bubbles after pouring- After pouring resin, wait 10 minutes and spray a fine mis of isobropyl alcohol over the surface to pop bubbles. This will also make the surface smooth and shiny when resin cures. Multiple pours- Multiple pours can be done at a maximum of 1/4" thickness, waiting 4-6 hours between each layer. Subsequen coats beyond 48 hours require a solvent wipe prior to pouring. Pouring large masses of resin in a single pour will generate heat and may cause discoloring. If you wish to pour thick sections, it is highly recommended to pour in layers. Sticky, soft, or tacky spots- Sticky spots are a result of off ratio or inadequate mixing. Make sure to slowly mix the resin for at least 2-3 minutes. |
For CastingMake sure to coat the mold in a mold-release agent or Vaseline before poring. Slowly pour mixed resin down the side of mold to avoid introducing additional air bubbles.
If using a stiff plastic mold, bend the mold until the resin pops out. If using a flexible silicon or latex mold, push the resin out from behind while peeling back the mold. If desired, the casting can be taken out of the mold after 8-12 hours and bent. Amazing clear cast can be sanded, wet sanded, and buffed to remove seam lines, scratches and bumps. Trim excess resin with scissors or an x acto knife. |
