INTRO TO ABSTRACT WITH DIANE HATHCOCK
Award-winning artist and faculty member at the Rocky Mountain School of Art, Kim English’s paintings depict the simple beauty found in everyday life. Of his direct, quick-sketch style, Kim says, “Immediacy is important, not only because it is often the nature of people, but for me, it is the most instinctive way to paint.”
In this workshop, students will focus on speed and accuracy, maintaining control while painting with a sense of spontaneity. Students will work from a live model, initially painting quick poses, and working into longer poses over the course of the first two days. The third day is reserved for painting the landscape in plein air.
Saturday, March 25. 10am - 4pm, $95, supplies needed, lunch provided!
