Vernet Superior Artist Oils
Holbein first released its Artist Oil Color line 70 years ago. Since then, Holbein Artist Oil has become a standard on oil painting palettes world-wide, revered for its pigment strength and uniform texture. Never ones to rest upon their laurels, Holbein color chemists began working on a new line of oil color 10 years ago. The stated objective was to develop a new line of oil color by combining modern technology with the finest pigments. The result is Vernet.
The Vernet line offers 40 traditional colors utilizing pure single pigments and the finest quality refined linseed oil. Vernet colors offer oil painters superior adhesion, tinting strength, durability, smooth texture and excellent lightfast ratings with high chroma, transparency and pigment density. Vernet colors will produce clean, non-muddy results when mixed.
Strong, beautiful and stable colors make the new Vernet line from Holbein the "Dream Palette" of the great masters. Vernet offers the modern oil painter the most advanced and highest quality oil color range ever produced.
Traditional Oil Color and Holbein Vernet colors differ fundamentally in terms of allocation ability and pigment content. Higher levels of pigment result in a higher depth of color and an increase in concealing power. An increase in pigment quality can be achieved simply in the production process. The difficulty lies in developing a method by which the paint may be dispersed. Vernet's innovation is in its technology...it takes ten times the amount of time to produce one tube of Vernet compared to its standard line equivalent. The result is a fine vibrant color.
