Discover the joy of watercolor painting in this hands-on class designed for both beginner and intermediate painters. Led by local artist Pam Benoit, this course will help you master watercolor techniques and color. In the class, Pam will show you how to address the most common watercolor problems.

Through fun exercises and projects, you’ll master the wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brush techniques.  You’ll learn about the properties of your paint.  Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to refine your skills, Pam’s expert guidance will ensure you leave with a deeper understanding of the creative possibilities that watercolor offers.

Level

This class is appropriate for beginners and intermediate painters. Covers basic watercolor painting techniques and provides individual assistance. No prior experience is required. Intermediate painters will gain a deeper understanding  of the foundational concepts of watercolor.

Pam Benoit is an award-winning teacher with a lengthy career teaching communication at universities. She has taught watercolor classes at Forstall and Four Seasons Gallery.  She loves helping other artists find their joy through watercolors

140 lb Student grade paper (Canson)

Various types of paper, formats, and substrates for watercolor; Arches, Fabriano, Saunders Waterford

Student grade paints- can do a set or 3 primaries 

Professional paints -Daniel Smith; Choose pan or tubes depending on how you paint

Round brush (6 or 8) and a  small detail brush
