Make a stunning travel journal that will cultivate your creativity, create lasting memories of amazing places, and enhance your experiences. You will learn how to create appealing layouts and explore ink and watercolor techniques for your prior travel adventures or ones that are scheduled in the future. We will work from personal photographs and references during class, but all these techniques can also be used while you are travelling for your future adventures.

Travel Sketching in Ink and Watercolor

Week 1: Travel supplies & Sketchbook and Page Layouts

Week 2: Drawing-Pencil and Ink Techniques & Perspective

Week 3: Watercolor Techniques & Color Theory

Week 4: Lettering and Journaling

Level

This class is appropriate for beginners and intermediate painters. Covers basic watercolor painting techniques and provides individual assistance. No prior experience is required. Intermediate painters will gain a deeper understanding of the foundational concepts of watercolor through practice and guidance.

Pam Benoit is an award-winning teacher with a lengthy career teaching communication at universities. She has taught watercolor classes at Forstall and Four Seasons Gallery. She loves helping other artists find their joy through watercolors.

Watercolor Sketchbook (I like the accordion/concertina journals but you can use any sketchbook that has mixed media/watercolor paper and you should choose a size that is good for travel)
Black Micron pen
Travel watercolor set
Couple of round brushes in different sizes (including a detail brush)
Tissues
Mechanical pencil
Kneaded eraser
Collapsible water container

UPDATED CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of the event will receive a refund equal to 50% of the cost of the event. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event will not receive a refund. This will help ensure that the instructor will be paid for their time and effort of teaching the event.
