Volunteers are welcome to park in the Forstall Art parking lot.

Either Andy, Madison, Phillip or Annette will let you into the gallery for your shift.

Spiel: The Birmingham Art Alliance is a new organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting the vibrant and diverse artistic landscape of Birmingham, Alabama. We welcome artists and makers of all mediums to connect, collaborate, and share their creative voices with the community. We are excited to host a pop-up shared gallery, located next to Forstall Art Center at 219 20th Street North.

Heads Up! There is a bathroom for volunteers, but it is NOT a public bathroom. The Pizitz food court has public bathrooms.

When a customer buys a piece, please do three things:

• In the customer’s Venmo transaction, have them note the artist’s name and the piece name.
• In the sales notebook, write down: Date, Artist name, the Piece that sold, Price.
• On the artist’s inventory sheet, write the date of the piece sold.

Also, you’re encouraged to bring a project and work while you gallery-sit.

Opening Duties

1) Turn on overhead lights

2) Turn on speaker, connect via Bluetooth (speaker is Klipsch One II), put on some tunes

3) Turn air conditioning down to 72-69 degrees OR turn heat on to 69-72 degrees

4) Turn on floor lights and shelf lights

5) Put out sign

6) Prop door open (weather permitting)

7) Sit outside and invite people in! (weather permitting)

Closing Duties

1) Bring in sign

2) Make sure door prop is inside

3) Make sure bathroom light is off

4) Turn air conditioning to 77 degrees OR turn heat down to 60 degrees

5) Unplug / turn off floor lights

6) Turn off lights up front

7) Lock door (gently press on door while locking)

8) Make sure door is locked!
